Specialty Courts in Ventura County: What are they and how do they function?

About the program:
Judge White will discuss Ventura County's numerous specialty courts including:
- Mental Health Court
- Veteran's Court
- Elder Abuse Court
- Domestic Violence Court
As well as how these courts were started, how they function and what litigants can expect in the courtroom.

About the speaker:

Judge White was appointed to the Ventura County Superior Court bench in 1994.  Since that time, she has served as Supervising Family Law Judge, Dependency Court Judge (where she established the Dependency Drug Court) and is currently assigned to the Criminal Trial Division where she presides over the Veteran's Court, Domestic Violence Court, Elder Abuse Court, Mental Health Court and Community Intervention Court.   Prior to joining the bench, Judge White was a member of the Ventura County District Attorney's Office for more than twenty years.

Judge White has received numerous accolades and awards for her leadership work on the bench and, most recently, received an award for Excellence in Leadership for her work in establishing and presiding over the Ventura County Veteran's Court.
